Wings by Aprilynne Pike
Hahahahaha. Hehehehe. Laugh disguised as a cough. Uncontrollable giggling. Honking laughs. Airy laughs. Wicked cackles. Honking chuckles. I don't care how you word it, but basically, I was dying from laughter with this book. Why? It's not really funny, but it's CHEESY.
So...I'm kind of unsure, but 2.75 out of 5 stars.

Yes everything I thought I knew about faeries changed forever. Now I'm haunted by people who can't eat meat or eggs that have a flower on their back. Oh, and did I mention that they don't have a heartbeat? Or that they breathe carbon dioxide? And not to mention that a faerie's skin color is determined by what they eat? Apparently not. I can take cheesiness to a point. But this book has crossed that line. To... eternally cheesy and immature!
Gag me and bind me to death. This plot was utterly disgusting. No offense or anything, but it was just boring. No huge curveballs or twists. Nothing that great. It's pretty guessable and totally not fun. I mean, what is wrong with this plot? A YA book or any other book is supposed to have a twisted, surprising plot. But this book has failed the plot test. And any other test plot-related.
Agh! And Lauren, what a weak main character. She's clingy and boring and just, ugh, such a Bella Swan! She reeks of weakness, which is probably the worst thing to reek of. I really don't like how she questions past decisions and just is unsure of everything. Go to a counselor and get your self-esteem checked! What are you waiting for?
This love triangle is not a love triangle. It's choosing the best out of two boys who are both annoying. So Lauren, just hurry up and ditch them both! They're not worth it! Oh, and I give you full permission to, as long as you ditch them both NOW!!!!

Look at that quote!!! It's about reading! And books! And that means only one thing: it's awesome!!!!! I love books with characters that love books! In other words, 5 out of 5 stars! ...that aren't haunted...

Guess what? This book is a murder mystery! And a paranormal book! And a half, but not really, romance! I'm for it all, but really only for the murder! Still, this book has it all! And that's a good thing! Yay! Go a variety of intriging things!
Not only that, but this murder mystery is truly a mystery! The killer is the last person you'd suspect. I suspected a ton of people, but the killer was the one I didn't even think about! Let's just say this murderer is a very good murderer... is he? Or she?
Anyways, besides that, the plot is still astounding! It's actually kind of ironic if you think about it. In other words, Valerie loves this plot!!!!!!!!!! And you should love it too! Absolutely amazing!
Oh, the time! It's in 1872! In England! Victorian era, delicious description, nice narrating, totally an old-fashioned novel! That appeals to modern readers! Anyways... it's a beautiful setting totally worth raving about! I absolutely devoured this setting. And the story. Anyways, where else can you go besides London?
And ghosts... wow... I was not expecting that! Ghosts are usually the forbidden species, ignored by time and rain. But not anymore! In this book, ghosts are... pretty interesting, to say it at the least. And pretty awesome! So unique and captivating! There, I used big words!
And I liked Violet a lot. She was smart and clever and basically okay with me! Well more than okay, but still! She's strong, which I admire, a bookworm, which makes me even more okay with her, and a great friend, which is a must on my list. Basically, a perfect protagonist and a perfect main character to write about. Yay, and her name is Violet because she has violet eyes! I've always wanted violet eyes!
And then there's a guy. Colin, to be exact. He's your average bad boy. Yup, just average. But good-looking. Still, I like him a lot! Lots of good quotes. Lots of swoon-worthy moments. Lots and lots of admiration... from a certain Valerie. Anyways, Colin is pretty awesome for a Victorian dude. That's all you really need to know...

There are books where you laugh and cry, but then there are books where you LAUGH and CRY. There are books where you fall in love with a guy, but then there are books where you FALL IN LOVE WITH A GUY. There are books where you are really liking the book, but then there are books you LOVE. This falls in the latter for all 3. 5 out of 5 stars!

Where do I begin? Well since I like him, let's say Vincent!!! I love him soooooo much!!! Swoon, swoon, swoon!!! He is so charming, good-looking, and all together the perfect crush! Love you, Vincent! Anyways, he has black hair, blue eyes, and darkish tannish skin. Doesn't he seem so awesome? Anyways, he really is very good to Kate. Total crush-worthy, which is why I added him to my list. Really, I don't to say any more...
Any crush I have is rare, so the guys are always pretty awesome...
Okay, I love this plot!!!!!!! I love how Amy Plum took something like zombies and made them so much more elegant. I mean revenants, doesn't that sound so nice? It seems so French, and who doesn't like anything French-sounding? It screams, "we are so sophisticated!" Not to mention it's totally unique... the revenants, not the French...
Anyways, lets just say there were a ton of twists. And turns. And spiraling loops. But even that's not enough to tell you. I was so surprised and so flabbergasted that I literally had to put the book down in order to start gasping and totally let it sink in. That is a sign of a great book!
The setting. Well, who doesn't love Paris? There's good food, good scenery... and good romance? Well at least in Kate's story. Anyways, now I want to visit Paris!!! The setting is amazing. You have water, the Eiffel Tower, and huge houses. There's so much detail and everything, with just makes me want to go to Paris even more! The Louvre, here I come!
And then there's this whole thing with Kate. She is an awesome heroine!!! She smart, and she actually thinks before she acts! That's the first time I've seen that in a protagonist! Not only that, but she's clever and totally awesome! Totally unique girl, in a good way!!!! Kate, can I be your friend? :)
I love Amy Plum's writing style!!! It had me flipping through the pages during the night, day and during school. Usually I don't read like crazy at school, but I had to with this book! It's written so well!!! I absolutely loved it! She has this fantastic style that had me begging for more!!!!!!!!! I hope she writes more books! I need to read more of her work! Now!
Then there's the ending. Wow... I love this ending! It seems like there are more books in this series, but this ending was so perfect! It literally had me sitting there with a silly smile on my face, but I didn't care! I am a sucker for nice endings! Absolutely best. Ending. Ever!!!! Love, love love!!!!!!
Oh, and the cover! It screams, "Buy me!" So that's what you have to do! Such a beautiful awesome cover! Such a dress! Look at the design. You absolutely MUST read this book. That is all I can say... or write. The rest is up to you.
