The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

I could review this books in four words if I really wanted to: This. Was. Freaking. Amazing. But then you wouldn't understand why... so I guess I'll have to review it as usual (even though I still haven't reviewed the Iron Fey #3 because it was just that good.) So out of its entire amazingness, 5 out of 5 stars.

The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa
the Iron Fey #4
5 out of 5 stars!
Oh, it's out!
Summary from Goodreads.com: Ash, former prince of the Winter Court, gave up everything. His title, his home, even his vow of loyalty. All for a girl… and all for nothing.

Unless he can earn a soul.

To cold, emotionless faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase—a half human, half fey slip of a girl— smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the (unwelcome) company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end— a quest to find a way to honor his solemn vow to stand by Meghan’s side.

To survive in the Iron realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. At least, no one has ever passed to tell the tale.

And then Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that turns reality upside down, challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Forgive if this review is slightly weird or off or crazy or droopy, but the Iron Knight was absolutely amazing. This book has affected me, as seen in the review, but I don't really care! I'm too in love with Ash. So yeah. Anyways, here's my review minus all the shrieking and the demented smiling:

The Iron Knight is an amazing story about Ash's journey throught the River of Dreams, the Wylde, the End of the World and the Testing Grounds. It's a story showing his love for Meghan, his struggles, his amazingness, and his amazingness again. It's definitely my favorite out of the whole entire series, and that's saying a lot.

The plot for this book was definitely unbelievable, in a good way. It's Ash's journey... with just a few twists. I can't reveal who, but let's just say Ms. Kagawa ties all the loose ends from novellas, the past and everything else. All the people/creatures you were wondering about before are brought back in for a final book, and I loved it! (That's part of the twists.) There was also the whole journey part that made me love the plot more. **********SPOILER ALERT******** The river? The Guardian? The trials? I loved it!*******END SPOILER*******

This book was basically for Ash fans, so I got a lot of Ash.:) Yay! I loved how Ash narrated almost the entire book. You struggle with him, cry with him, laugh with him, and smile with him. You fall in love with him a little more, and if you're Team Puck, then you end up falling in love with him. So, basically he's definitely my favorite male protagonist ever. I. Love. You. Ash.

And then there was the total Puck-Ash feud that been going on since who-knows-when. Ms. Kagawa clears that up, well kind of. Anyways, I love how they get along. It's so awesomely realistic and epic that I absolutely love it! Besides, Puck is an awesome friend for Ash. May they stop trying to kill each other...

But mostly, I love the epic beauty of this book. Everything about it was beautiful, well almost. I loved how even the river and the fey all seemed beautiful. Even the writing was beautiful! And also sometimes the End Of The World and everything else...

So, basically I fell in love with this book, and you should too.

I fell in love with this book, too! That's an awesome review, and I read it three times just because I loved it so much! Julie's such a strong writer, and the emotions that she makes me feel are both blessings and curses! I really wish I wouldn't be so addicted to a series, because I'm pretty sure it's not healthy. ;) When I discovered it the entire trilogy was out, so I got to enjoy to read it without waiting, and then at the heart-breaking ending of the Iron Queen, I freaked and started begging my mom to buy it, since the Iron Knight was still months away. But now I'm a happy camper!

Aaawww thanks. :)
I totally know what you mean about the Iron Fey series. I started them in August, and then got so pumped up for The Iron Knight that that was the only book I could think about in October. Well on my to-read list anyways...
I'm really excited for the next book Julie Kagawa writes!
