Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

This book is the type of book that gets raving reviews, lots of good publicity and all that good stuff, but you still don't read. It was sitting on my to-read list for at least two months, but I only started reading it a few days ago. And it was awesome! Since the series is already out, you can just read without having to wait!
5 out of 5 vampy stars!

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
5 out of 5 stars
It's out
Summary from Goodreads: St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

Gah! Now, I usually scoff at vampires... but you absolutely cannot with this book. They may be vampires, but with a twist. Not only that, but they actually have different types of vampires. Yeah... thanks to the Vampire Academy I'm starting to obsess over vampires...

I absolutely love Rose! She is the awesomest protagonist ever! She's snarky, sarcastic and strong. She's not afraid to speak her mind and defend herself, even though that sometimes causes problems. She talks back! She's one of those girls you'd be afraid of, no matter how strong you yourself are. And I like how she narrating! You see her and Lissa throughout the story, but usually Rose. What else do I have to say?

Then there's Dimitri. Well, I guess I have to say, he's quiet and calculating but not evil. I like his description with the ponytail and everything, but he's not my favorite. I'm more of a Christian girl! (the guy... in the book...) Anyways, I guess I'm a little more than okay with him. I see why Rose likes him, but I still don't like him that much. I mean, as much.

Christian! I love you Christian! You look good! Seriously, I love black hair and blue eyes! I love you! I guess you're the charming bad boy in the series, very comparable to Will Herondale, but not quite. I love you a lot! I had better stop this speech or else Lissa will get very, very mad. And I don't know if I can handle that...

This plot was pretty awesome. I didn't expect him (it's not Christian, is it) to be the so-called enemy. Or his accomplice. It was a pretty awesome plot, and I am going over it like crazy. I absolutely loved this plot! It made twists when you least expected it and turns where there was supposed to be a dead end. Basically, this plot is so rant-worthy and epic that you absolutely must read the book to understand!

And I absolutely love the ending. It was a half cliffhanger that was pretty awesome and memorable. It ends yet it doesn't. You don't notice it's a cliffhanger until you're reading the ending over and over... like I did. Then when it hits, all the world stops until you take it in. Well, something like that anyways.

However, this book was innappropriate. Just make sure you don't read it if you can't stand it. Also, Rose swears a lot so if you're not okay with swearing, do not read this book at all. If you do, you will be too hooked to care.
But not that it matters, right?
